If you need a new copy of the December homework, feel free to download and print the homework from the following link.  Students are given a grade on the report card for completing homework.  Students are also tested at the end of every month on all of the high frequency words taught to that point in the year.  So please make sure that you are practicing these words at home.  You can print the flashcards from the following link or just write them on index cards at home.  But please practice the words with your child!  We will also be practicing in class.

We are asking every family to print and practice the following flashcards with the September high frequency words.  Each child will be tested at the end of the month on their knowledge of these words.  To make the flashcards more sturdy you can glue them to cardstock, construction paper, or index cards.  You can also just copy the words onto index cards if you don't want to print this sheet.  Click on the following link to get the September flashcards.

Welcome to Kindergarten!

    Welcome to the new 2012-2013 kindergarten school year!  We are excited to start this school year and to teach your child.  We look forward to meeting each of you at your kindergarten assessment appointment.  Please be prompt as each appointment is only 30 minutes long and the assessment takes the whole time.  

     This year we will be updating the kindergarten blog with newsletters, homework, important events, and posts about our classwork.  Hope you will check often and stayed informed about what is going on in kindergarten!

There is no homework for the month of May.  Please continue to read and practice the flashcards with your child.  This will help your child to be ready for the end of year testing.  Your child will have access to Raz kids through out the summer.  Please continue to use this important reading resource, as it gives your child books on their level.  Maintaining your current reading schedule over the summer will ensure that your child stays on level for first grade! 

Animal Reports

This month the students will be preparing animal reports for homework and then they will be presenting the reports to the class.  The students all did wonderful with their stories last month, so we are really looking forward to hearing the animal reports.  Click on your teachers name to view the directions for the report and to see when your child will be presenting.  You can call or email your child's teacher if you have any questions.

The April homework will be due on May 1st.  Homework reinforces the concepts that we are currently teaching at school, so we appreciate the time you put into helping your child complete their homework!  Thank you!
