We have had quite a few parents asking about the sight words that will be tested each month. We have compiled a list for you that goes through March. We will be updating it for April and May.

Parents, please remember that the second trimester ends Friday February 17. All homework through January will be recorded on the report cards under learning habits.

Please make sure your child's teacher has your email address. We will be doing a snow day within the next couple of months and will let you know by email. We usually check the weather each morning to see if there will be enough snow.

I am sure you have noticed your child brought home some large math work books. These are optional. We know at this age many kids love workbooks so we listed some pages in the work books that correlate to concepts taught in class. These pages do not need to be turned in.
The first week of October we assessed on rhyming words.
If your child struggled on this assessment you can do some of the following:
Read Dr. Suess books and notice rhyming words.

Thanks for a great first week of kindergarten. This week we talked about our first five letters of the alphabet. We learned that each of us is Special and important to our class. We have explored lots of different math "toys" and began sorting. We did our hearing screening and went to an assembly.

Welcome Back!
Welcome Back to School
We are so excited to start our school year. You should have already heard from your child's teacher to set up your kindergarten assessment time. With that email you will have notice that our Back to School night is scheduled for Thursday Aug. 18th from 4:00 to 5:30. The kindergarten teachers will be doing a presentation for all new kindergarten parents that evening from 4:30 to 5:00. If you are unable to come please click on the link below to download the powerpoint presentation and you can watch it on your own.

We also discussed the homework folder. The folder will be sent home toward the end of September and we will post the link on the blog then. The flashcards are posted below so your child can begin to practice their letters and sounds. The word wall words and shapes will be needed at a later date.
